Windows media creation tool closes after "creating windows 10 media"

When using the media creation tool I choose to upgrade my PC, everything goes as it should until I reach 100% on "creating windows 10 media." when I reach this point the program closes and instead of the installer loading nothing happens. Does anyone know if this is something on my end causing the problem and if there is a fix?

Possibly pushing wrong button closed it?
    Could start over, I guess.

Check if there is iso file somewhere.
If a disk selected, the iso might be made already.
Just need to burn it with say,
    ImgBurn.

I've got to this point in the download multiple times and it's done the same thing every time

Create an ISO instead of direct install.
Use Rufus to create a flash drive to install from, or just mount the ISO from a booted Win 8 then run setup.exe from the mounted ISO to start the upgrade. Make sure you create it for UEFI/GPT if upgrading a computer that came with Win 8 or 8.1.

Perform the upgrade portion first, then open the Tool again to download the iso.
