Possible to upgrade w10 Pro 1703 to 1709 instead of 1803?

Hi there, I have multiple PCs running W10 Pro 1709 but one of my systems did not update to 1709 and is still running 1703.

Now when I try to update I can only go from 1703 to 1803.... is it possible to manually install 1709 somehow without having to reinstall the OS or anything like that?

    Thanks for your help

Hi sycree and welcome to Tenforums.
You can still download older ISOs of Windows - the easiest way is to use the Heidoc ISO downloader, which grabs them directly from the MS servers.

But, why wouldn't you want to just update all the systems to the latest version?

I would download the v1803 ISO to the system that is still on v1703, then mount the ISO using File Explorer, and run setup.exe. That will give you an in-place upgrade. Watch the video in this tutorial:

Of course, make sure you have a Macrium image before doing it, just in case you run into problems.

Note that assuming you need to have 1709, then if you wish to not upgrade to 1803 then either
    - if you have Pro you can defer this for 365 days
    - or you must take special action - before 1803 starts to download- to hide the upgrade.

    Further:
one of my systems did not update to 1709 and is still running 1703.
    This could suggest:
    - Windows update is broken or disabled on that PC
    - MS does not deem it fit to run 1709, so never offered it
    - it has been trying to upgrade to 1709 but repeatedly failing (you can check its Update History)
