I agree Bree so far but there could be some corruption, not sure what, but I think we've all seen when the media is refreshed it works. Now the fact it works legacy may shoot that theory down in flames.

The OP says he loaded defaults and that should for a modern board default to UEFI. I downloaded manual and the defaults are UEFI. So that leaves a bad Motherboard. ???

Now one thing we haven't explored, is there a new BIOS available that may correct this situation.
@dejwiu what is your current BIOS level and what level is available on the vendor site. Not saying to update it but can you see what you are running and what is available?

It should not be possible to corrupt a retail Microsoft install usb. The usb stick is read-only, set in the usb's hardware and cannot be modified in any way.
...just purchased a retail Windows 10 USB package from Microsoft and it arrived in a few days. The USB is write-protected and displays Read Only in the Disk Management...

    Okay.

So we wait to hear about BIOS levels.

I believe he has tried other USB ports, not sure how you would diagnose MB.

OP has confirmed all BIOS settings offered up are set.

Hardware failure of the USB flash drive itself.

@dejwiu could either try the existing USB flash drive in another computer, see if it will boot it in UEFI mode or make a new USB flash drive with the Media Creation Tool and see if that boots in UEFI mode in the existing computer.

I still don't know why the OP wants to install into UEFI (GPT Partitioning mode) if CSM is working fine. You will not get any speed benefits by going MBR->GPT. GPT may have other benefits (better error tolerance and such) but speed improvements over MBR are negligible at best. One important thing is that the disk partitions must be aligned for newer AF (Advanced Format) drives. Other than that I don't know where OP issues stem from. I have formatted a lot of PCs both MBR and GPT and they perform well in all situations.

I found the problem. It's the Microsoft usb that's causing the problems. I plugged other usb flash drive and with csm disabled i can see it. But i've got last question though. If i install windows 10 in uefi will it automatically convert to gpt or do i need to do diskpart?

If you delete all the existing partitions and install Windows 10 to a completely unallocated drive, it will convert it to GPT.

    Great.

Redoing your media was suggested two days ago as the fix by everyone on this thread at one point or another.

    Glad you found it.
