1803 update on extremely slow isp

I live in a remote area of Alaska using a overpriced/under performing sat based isp and can't seem to download the 1803 W10 2+GB update. Are there any options to acquire the update from Microsoft on some form of usable media?

Yes, but not free, as far as I can find. $25 fee for hard copy (DVD). Take a look here and see if it fits you.

Only other way would be find a buddy or tech store that could download for you and put it on a DVD or thumb drive.

Are you doing it via Windows update "Check for updates"? If yes, try running the Media Creation Tool and download an ISO. It will be a bigger download, but it may be managed better and not fail. Once you have the ISO, you just mount it in Windows and run setup.exe.
Download Windows 10 Download tool now > Run > Accept > Create installation media > select language etc > ISO file.
