1803 update fails again. How do I kill it?

After six attempts at updating 1709 to 1803, I'm giving up. It always fails to install on the restart, and yes, I've tried every trick to get it to install.
Now, how do I get rid of the various files it's downloaded and which now add to the clutter on my HD?
It now reminds me that updates are ready to install and I need to restart to complete the install, but I know that won't work. Anyone written an uninstall program?

That should work. You might want to buy a cheap Pro upgrade key via Amazon so you can defer feature updates - but beware of dodgy dealers.

    Welcome to TenForums @Pawncob

Yes, Congratulations. That was a successful update to (giving it its full name) the 'April 2018 Update, version 1803, os build 17134'. The major build number 17134 identifies this as being version 1803, the minor number .81 tells you which cumulative update you have had.

You should expect shortly to get the June cumulative update that will take you up to os build 17134.112.

So your upgrade failed repeatedly and then all of a sudden worked on its own? I've had it fail on computer #4 for three weeks with nothing I tried helping fix it. So fed up at this point.

If you're replying to me I don't want to hide it, I want it to install. Like it should and like it did for all previous Win 10 upgrades and like it did for my other three computers. There is absolutely no reason I can find why it won't.

    Try using the Update Assistant.

    Download Windows 10

    Also @bru.
I've seen that happen on 5 computers. I ensure the computer is running properly and that WU's are up-to-date with the most current version it should be at that point. Then I tell the user to let it continue trying until it does naturally come through and that has happened successfully for those 5 computers. 1 of them happened during the first week of the initial failed attempt, 2 of them took until the first week of the following month & the other 2 took until the first week of the following 2nd month. Naturally each one of those users wanted it done NOW: easy answer, bring it to a local computer shop. They don't and when the update finally comes through they are thankful.
