Since Win 1803 upgrade: A bluescreen every other day... :-(

Of course I can't tell whether it really has to do with the recent Windows 1803 upgrade but exactly since then (i.e. since about 3 weeks) I experience a bluescreen about every other day. The explanation mumbles something about some "IRQ less or equal"... (or similar). I practically never had any similar issues like that with Win10 before. Maybe 2-3 bluescreens in >3 years.

What I find really disturbing is, that each time after the system has collected a dump (at least it says so) and reboots I immediately get another bluescreen and the system tells me that the system hasn't been able to shut down properly (surprise!) and that it is corrupted and that I will need to use recovery tools to repair my system.

Instead I then always do hard-reset (i.e. press power for like 20 seconds), wait for like 5 seconds and switch it on again and then it always come up without any further problems.

I installed a utility "WhoCrashed" to find out, what might be causing these crashes, but the tool always tells me, that the created dump is empty or unusable. :-(

Any similar problems anyone? Any idea, what might cause this? One of my suspicions is, that it might have to do with bluetooth because I observed that about 1/2 minute before those crashes the mouse and pen typically get non-responsive, but maybe that's just a coincidence.

BTW: this is on an MS Surface Pro 4 under Windows Professional.

Most likely a driver problem. Bear in mind you got a new set of drivers with 1803.

How to Find Out Why Your Windows PC Crashed or Froze
Your event viewer may have something helpful, but it's possible the crash prevented the dmp file being written, which could also render Reliability History (mentioned above) unhelpful.

    Have a look at
Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

You could try disabling suspect drivers and see what happens by a process of elimination.Y
You may need to use an older version of a driver.

There's strong evidence that it does have to do with the upgrade to 1803. Others have reported random BSODs with the initial update to 1803 and I had an occasional one at first. This seems to have been a 'buggy' initial release for 1803 as I've never had BSODs before.

I have not had any more BSODs since the cumulative update to build 17134.81, which tends to confirm that it was down to a bug in the early builds.
