Win 10 Update Stuck in Reset Loop

My installation is stuck in a reset loop. The Win 10 Ready to Install came up, so I clicked Start and it rebooted, back to the login screen, and then Windows Update came up saying it needed to Restart Now. After a couple of minutes the Win 10 Ready screen comes up again. I've rebooted about 20 times and get to the same point every time. Any ideas would be appreciated at this point.

    Windows 10 x64 Home Version(1709) Build16299.125

Found this it works for windows 8

This issue could be due to system files corruption, I would suggest you to try performing automatic repair using Windows 8 disc from Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and check if it helps.

To perform Automatic repair on Windows 8 computer follow these steps:

    a. Insert the media such as (USB or DVD) and restart your computer.
    b. Press F12 key (typically this is F12, but it can differ between computer manufacturers) and choose the drive that you inserted the installation media into.
    c. Once the Windows Setup window appears, follow these steps:
    d. Click next and select Repair your computer.
    e. You will then see a blue screen and an option to choose. Choose the option Troubleshoot and select advanced options.
    f. You may choose Automatic Repair from Advanced boot option.

    Hope this helps
keep us posted please either way whether it worked or not

Thanks for your reply. I did try using the "Troubleshoot Windows Update" feature found in Troubleshooting, which found a couple of problems, but the end result was my update history was deleted and the problem remained.

My solution was to use the tool mentioned elsewhere to create installation media, which in my case was a USB key, and use the USB key to install. I was able to run the installer from inside Windows with no problems, even though it still wanted to restart to finish updates. Windows 10 is installed now and everything seems to be working fine.
