    Hi,
Right click ie11 and select start in-private browsing works too if default settings haven't been altered to run with no add-ons mode.

How does IE behave if you use the command I gave you to run it with add-ons disabled?
I ran IE without addons for a day with no problems. I proceeded to look at the addon's that my wife's computer has, since we have the same exact computer build, and found that mine has the addon :creative software auto update in 2 different sections of all addons. I went ahead and disabled those and now IE looks like its acting good, except for the ocational IE last page not closing and having to use end process to close. Other than that, looks like its fixed for right now.

After having some on going small problems with 1709, I decided to reinstall 1709. The problems was, The WU was trying to install 1803. I proceeded to hide 1803, but when I did, the WU was disabled. MS made sure that you have to update or lose updates.
Same experience, after blocking 1803 via wushowhide Windows Update does not offer Cumulative Update for 1709. I installed it from Windows Update Catalog, now awaiting if June Cumulative Update will be offered. No problem for me to download it from Catalog, high security risk for many Windows 10 users. Thanks, Microsoft.

I always defer feature upgrades for 6 months to give MS chance to sort out their poor software engineering. 1803 seems one of the more bug prone updates judging by the many problem posts on the forum.
I do the opposite. I always update my systems to the latest version. I never had any problems ( I have four PC:s with Windows 10) other than the usual ones; why does Windows keep changing my settings!

I have always used Windows Defender as anti malware and nothing else besides doing scans with MBAM (Malware Bytes Anti Malware).

My PC:s are: one MSI gaming laptop, one Dell laptop, one Intel NUC connected to my TV and one Dell mini tower .
All are running Windows 10 Pro version 1803 except the Intel NUC which is running Windows 10 Home version 1803.

I always run the latest version because I believe they have the latest technology fighting malware. Maybe that is the case; I never had any problems with malware since about 25 years back. At that time I attended a programming course and picked up a virus on my Windows 3.1 (!) system. It was my first and only malware since. And yes I am very careful when installing software and surfing the net among may other things I do with my PC:s ;-)

That seems conclusive. That 'creative software auto update' addon was mentioned in the Creative forum (now disbanded) back in 2009. This is from a Google Cache of the page.

    Dear Sound Blaster Users,

It has come to our attention that our users would like to know the reason behind installing the Creative Software Autoupdate application. Below is an explanation of what it does:

    Creative Software Autoupdate Application
This application is a software upgrade tool designed to make your software updates for Creative products easy and efficient. This is just one of the ways we ensure that you always get maximum performance for your Creative products.

Creative Software Autoupdate detects Creative products and software installed on your PC and determines whether your PC contains the latest versions of Creative software and drivers. When updates are available, the application will provide you with a listing of essential, critical and recommended updates to download and install to your PC.

Creative Software Autoupdate uses a small, downloadable module. This is an Acti'veX Control that runs only this specific task. It does not self-activate unless you initiate the program. If you wish to remove the application, simply locate the program file, "Creative Software Autoupdate" from the Internet Explorer. From the Tools menu in the Internet Explorer, choose Internet Options, then select Settings under Temporary Internet Files. A list should appear. Choose Creative Software Autoupdate and press Delete.

    How Creative Software Autoupdate works
    - It ensures up to date Creative applications on your system by scheduling checks when you connect to Internet.
    - It also checks for bonus applications available for your product.

    Note
No personal information is collected or sent to Creative Labs during the Software Update process. Only system and product information are required for the AutoUpdate analysis to determine the right software component and version to be updated.

Have you run the program in compatibility mode? The browser plug ins do not work under 64 bit browsers I know, because I tried to use them...

I saw that the forum was no longer available, but didn't do too much research on it. I deleted the addons at the same time I saw them. Thanks for the help.
