On my desktop I installed Windows 10 Pro version 1804. I have the impression that it is not quite OK.
Can you tell me what happens when I install Windows 10 Pro with another product code (which I have) : does this replace the "old" W10, do I lose my other installed software, passwords, settings and/or bookmarks ?

Yes, if you reinstall Windows 10 - whether or not you use a new product key, it will erase the previous version of Windows 10 including all of you other software and settings. If you change only the product key, then nothing will be changed except for activation.
You can try to fix Windows by doing an "upgrade" which will leave all your software, bookmarks and settings intact:

If you re-install Windows, though, there is no need to enter a new product key.
