Asus K501UX, Windows 10 Pro and hidden 899MB partition

Hi everyone,
new member even so I always read on these forums looking for solutions.

I don't know if this is the right section of the foum.
I fresh reinstalled Windows 10 64bit Pro on my Asus laptop, Intel series 100 chipset Skylake-U.
Something I don't understand is why there is a hidden partition of 899MB which was automatically created?
Of course there the hidden 100MB system partition plus the remainig space allocated for the use of the computer.
In the bios the default setting is set to Raid even so there is only one hard disk, but it seems working well.
I guess this hidden partition has something to do with computer performances.

It's most probably a recovery partition. Can you provide a screenshot from drive management?

Sorry it's actually 499MB partition.

That looks as it should be and completely normal....499mb MBR and 100mb UEFI. Exactly like mine is.

MBR = A master boot record (MBR) is a special type of boot sector at the very beginning of partitioned computer mass storage devices like fixed disks or removable drives intended for use with IBM PC-compatible systems and beyond.

UEFI = Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) is a specification for a software program that connects a computer's firmware to its operating system (OS). UEFI is expected to eventually replace BIOS. Like BIOS, UEFI is installed at the time of manufacturing and is the first program that runs when a computer is turned on.

AFA your HDD being set to RAID is something new the laptop manufactures are doing....Why, I don't completely understand that one myself. This might be related to the type of drive that is installed on the laptop.

Doing a quick search on your laptop; it has both a HDD and a SSD or some dual type hdd configuration depending on model.

My laptop only has one 1TB Hitachi Sata hard disk, what puzzles me is Asus not giving much information regarding the laptop expandability because I think it has an empty SSD (or something else) slot and to check that you have to open a part the back cover as there is no any small door that you can open.
I posted this question on Asus and Intel forums and got no replay.

Ah I wanted to update the Bios firmware and got more problems with wrong files from Asus download page and no one has the answer!

BIOS updates are only necessary if there is an issue of some kind....then and only then you should update the BIOS. Updating the BIOS is tricky for the novice but can be done. Will need the exact model number of your laptop.

It's a recovery partition. I would just leave it alone.
