    Clean install question

About to do a clean install on a PC that has 10 on it and activated. It was a windows 7 machine that had the free 10 offer installed.

Will it activate when the clean install is complete? I thought the key was embedded but not sure.

When I get to where to install it, can I delete all partitions to make the drive all unallocated and then install?

If you had Windows 10 installed and activated, just skip when it asks for a key when installing. It will activate once you have it installed. Just make you install the same edition you had, Pro or Home.

If it is the only drive in the computer, yes you can delete all partitions and install to the unallocated space. If you have another drive, be sure which drive you are deleting partitions on.

    Hope this helps :)

Yes, if you don't need anything on that other operating system you are more than welcome to delete every single partition. Thats what I did and it worked like a charm. Hope this helps

Thanks everyone for the info. In the past I would remove drive and delete all but someone said it could be done at install so I thought I would try it. Its a lot less work as well.

You are welcome. When it gets to where you want to install. Just click each one and then click delete. Easy as 1 2 3 4. Click on unallocated, then click install. :)
