    Can I format and install with 1803 now?


    Working on friends PC. I've tried for 3 days to go from 1703 to 1709. I've spent hours and hours and deleted softwaredistrubution and anything else to do with an upgrade. I've run the upgrade troubleshooter and tried yet again. Got nowhere, at the end it always says "resume prior os".

    So, I have done my desktop PC with 1803 and I have the usb install. Can I simply format that friends laptop and install 1803 from scratch or not?

    Yes, you can, although you may want to make sure you have all the windows 10 drivers for his laptop, some won't like the windows native drivers. and any other propriety software downloaded and in an easy to get to location

    Your friend's notebook may need a BIOS and Chipset Info files update so check for those while you're in the manufactures support website download area.
