One thing that jumps out at me in your specs is, why do you have the Kingston memory installed ?

You don`t need it and it may be slowing your Corsair memory down.

If you mix memory with different speeds, it will only run at the slower speed.
I ran into that last night. I had 8GB extra of Kingston and put it in. It slowed me down so much but I think it was because the ram was not dual channel. It was a good 2-3 second difference loading things like Computer Management and GeForce Experience. I tested a couple more but saw enough coupled with the non dual channel to just take it back out.

I agree with others in that thread, and think you should just wait and clean install the Spring Creators Update.

What does Task Manager say your memory speed is ?

    Yes,
I'm taking a big hit on my memory's speed.
As you can see form my screenshot below.

The Corsair will run at 3000 MHz, with XMP enabled, while the Kingston runs at stock DDR4 speed 2133.
I sometimes need the extra 8GB of ram, when I'm using Photoshop, Gimp, rendering stuff in Blender or editing videos.
I haven't noticed any real slowdown.
Although it "seemed" faster using only the Corsair 3000 NMz RAM.
The Kingston RAM was sitting in the closet, gathering dust.
I figured I might as well install it and get an extra 8GB.
I know 3000 MHz is more than 2133 MHz, but do you really think I should remove the 2 4GB Kingston modules?

I would, having 16GB of 3000 MHz should be fine for anything you do.

If you have any issues you could always buy another set of the Corsair and sell the Kingston :)

But if you`re ok with the Kingston in there, then it can wait.

The price of Memory (along with every other computer part today) is insane

No you didn't, just mention the price of RAM!
    It's non compos mentis!
I did want to add another 16GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz.
I won the Corsair memory I now have installed, for $90 on an eBay auction about 8 months ago.
It's now up to nearly $200!!!

Yep, what I bought for $300 at Corsair is now at $460, ridiculous

    DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2666MHz C15 Memory Kit

My initial plan was to add the 32GB set from the Z170 to the X299 and buy this for the Z170, but it`s just not worth it.

CORSAIR Dominator Platinum 16GB Memory Kit Model CMD16GX4M4B3200C16R - Newegg.com

    Nearly $300 for 16GB

Remember those days, when RAM was cheap?
What happen to those good old days?

I have an entire shoebox filled with DDR2 and DDR3, but it's useless 1GB and 2GB sticks.

Yeah I have about 12GB of older DDR and 8GB of DDR 3 which I would love to stick in my old old 2nd PC but its DDR 2 which I have no extra, only the 4GB in it. At the time that 4GB was awesome lol.

I can remember when having 8GB was considered overkill.

"You'll never use that much RAM" they said...

    By the way.
I removed the 2x4GB Kingston Ram modules and enabled the Corsair XMP Profile in the BIOS.
