I would stick with Home edition. I also use my operating system for gaming, browsing the internet and listening to music mainly :)

Just a side question, is it possible to downgrade from pro to home without formatting your ssd and starting all over again?

It is allegedly possible by doing a regedit to change some registry entries from professional to Home, then doing a repair upgrade with Home iso.

Did a search and found this guide and it works.

Will give it some time and see if the home version is better.

P.S do I need to get a new key or is the key converted with the regedit fix?

It says that windows is still activated.

PC must have previously been activated with Home. If you were activated with PRO, it makes no sense to downgrade.

It hasn't been activated with home previously, but it still says that windows is activated and the key works.

If pc originally came with windows 8 preinstalled, key will be bios embedded in most cases.

So you installed Pro and have now downgraded it to Home huh?

This whole thread is therefore pointless.

You can decide for yourself seeing as (according to you) you tried both.
