Update :
the only "honest" utility xD
So apperantly i have a bootmgr file in the HarddiskVolume6 under \EFI\REMIXOS\BOOTX64.EFI,
the only problem is, that i don't have a 6th Volume !!
I am assuming that is the Hard disk that i plugged through USB ?
is there a way to fix this now ?
thank you
The given method in post #11 should work = rebuilt the UEFI boot partition. The easiest way is in the BIOS under boot order.
Disable the efi Remix partition.
The BIOS method works. Next time, disconnecting the main drive is more appropriate. What your friend did is equivalent to dua lboot
Remix is in the UEFI partition and it must be delete or easier disable. Disabling the Remix boot loader does not require any app.
That way, Windows boot manager will be alone and the machine will boot normally
please excuse me if this might sound rude (am not!) but can you please give me step-by-step instead of explanations ?
What do you mean by "the bios method" ? isn't Bios that old thing that is totally replaced my UEFI ?
this is what mine looks like :
And i went through it all and there is no indication of RemixOs at all.
How ?? using the App recommended above didn't do anything, and using bcdedit /remove with the Remix UDID caused a booting error and windows didn't startup, thankfully i made a backup from bcdedit and re-imported it with command prompt.Remix is in the UEFI partition and it must be delete or easier disable. Disabling the Remix boot loader does not require any app.
Thanks
You must go in the BIOS for that under boot order. Remix boot loader will be shown. Set it to disable.
Restart and press the "Delete" key while the system is booting up to enter the BIOS = MSI.
mini tool disk wizard free version has an option to repair the mbr or uefi
Don't touch Win boot manager. If Remix is not shown then you must repair the UEFI PARTITION = fat32. Going to bed 1AM on east coast.* diskpart is the best for u.
