    Autochk program missing, skipping autocheck.

So I am doing a clean install of windows. Everything goes well until it reaches the sections where it says "getting device ready". After this reaches 100%, windows then reboot. When it reboots, I get the error "Autochk program missing, skipping autocheck." This is followed by a bug check with the error code, "bad system config info"

I've followed the instructions from windows 7 - Missing autochk program during boot - Super User, Windows 7 boot fails - Super User and https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...startup-issues but none seems to work.

    Help please.

Hi, let's check how you are doing the clean install.. and can you confirm you are familiar with doing that?
Where did you get your installation disk or iso from?

Have you deleted all the partitions on the disk you're installing Windows on? (Unless there's a data partition you need to keep).

    Have you checked your disk?

So it turns out that it was the insider build 17101 ISO that was the cause of the problem. I downloaded the latest ISO for the slow build and it worked like a charm.
