    Hi,
Probably set to boot to uefi only
dvd is not going to be able to do that

It's better to remove the existing hdd or ssd and insert a new one so at least the original install is intact

But yes you'll have to disable fast start/ secure boot/ and enable CSM/ boot also not as uefi only :)
Make sure os type is set to Other OS.
So other words your saying the BIOS would need reflashing to accept Windows 7 to be installed.
I'm with Pixie, Windows 10 has way to many issues.. mine connects to internet, but windows doesn't. haven't received updates since Jan 9th, 2018. tells me cant connect to update host check your connection. no app's connects to internet except for one. iHeart Radio.
All the app's I had on the start menu now have a arrow pointing down when I click on them, tips come up saying connect to internet.
I ran winver, it shows windows being insiders build 16299.192 when it was windows home x64 16299...

    Hi,
No I'm saying or guessing really a retail dvd installer can not be used on a uefi only boot bios setting.

I have a OEM System Builder Pack of Win 7 Home Premium x32.
That is what I installed on this ACER Aspire 5515 laptop.
If I build Desktops, I can obtain licenses and product keys and use this OEM DVD.
I would be responsible for all support..

    Hi,
One can use any activation type key with an installer OEM or full retail make no difference just needs to match the version Pro/ Home...
The activation key defines the windows version.

Again All I'm saying is one can't "that I know of" boot to a dvd installer if the bios is set to uefi only :)
uefi only would need a flash drive and formatted for uefi compatibility.
