i kept thinking what would make the installation stops at 6%, at 6 % windows is copying the files to your hard disk, which makes me think it is a hard drive problem, do you have any spare HDD ? if you don't can you connect the hdd to another system and try to install windows on it?
If I remember correctly, it is at 32% of total and 6% of installing driver, so there shouldn't be a hard disk problem, but it doesn't harm to check your disk for errors if you can. If you encounter errors, try fixing them (this is usually possible when using a test utility from the disk manufacturer, such as WD Life Guard Diagnostics for WD disks and Seagate SeaTools for Seagate disks), provided there is not too much damage.
It's a brand new drive; I doubt there are errors. The problem is at when it's installing drivers as mentioned.
For me my Android phone was causing it to stick. Progress continued as soon as I unplugged it. No need to disable or unplug anything else for me. Of course Microsoft hates my Android phone. :)
I should plug in my Windows Phone maybe it will proceed :)
This is insane why this isn't working
As already said, disable anything that is not necessary for the upgrade and disconnect any external device (printer, USB Flash whatever).
try this, download the iso again, paste the files into usb flash memory, install from the flash memory
I'm trying to do an upgrade installation; what I want to do.
The ISO can also be used for an upgrade installation. Download it again, just in case the old one is corrupt and causing problems. Burn a fresh DVD or format the USB Flash drive and create it again, just to make sure.
