Windows 7 upgrade to Windows 10...
I've tried a number of times to update Windows 7 to Windows 10, using Microsoft MCT. Each and every times the upgrade process seemingly finishes to 100%, but instead of rebooting the first time, it pops up this error message on the Windows 7 desktop:
The system in question:
Power supply Seasonic 650W
Motherboard: Asus P8P67 LE
BIOS date: 09/2013, latest available
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, retail purchase
CPU: i5 2500K, Sandy Bridge
Memory: 8 GBs
Page file: 16GBs, on "C" drive
Graphic card: Radeon HD 6870, one GBs memory
System drive: 250GBs Samsung 850 EVO, SATA
Data drive: 250GBs Samsung 850 EVO, SATA
Storage drive: One TB Seagate HDD
CD/DVD drive: LG Re-writable DVD
Network card: Realtek
Audio: Realtek
Prior to starting the update, either from a USB stick, or doing online via MCT, the following services/application were disabled:
- Vipre A/V
- Malwarebytes 3.x
- Microsoft EMET
- Macrium Reflect service
- Samsung Magician
This is a small business system and as such, all software is licensed, including QuickBooks 2012 and 2018.
I am not certain, if the video card, or the Realtek audio/network that bounce the update to Windows 10> Any suggestion is welcome.
TIA...
