Infuriating double bind when trying to install latest Win 10 update
Every time I try to install the latest update to Windows 10 using the on-line method, I get an error message that tells me to turn off my antivirus program. Installing Windows 10 this way takes up to an hour. So I'm supposed to leave my computer unprotected for an hour, when according to what I've read, the average time for an unprotected PC to become infected with a virus or malware when it's online is 12 minutes? But when I try to install the update using the full-size standalone installer, I get a message that "this update is not applicable to your computer," and after spending half an hour trying to figure out which update is applicable to my computer, I gave up. Does anyone have any advice for getting around this dilemma?
