Windows 10: Win 10 / XP dual boot sequence. What happens to the old XP boot sector
Win 10 / XP dual boot sequence. What happens to the old XP boot sector
When Windows 10 is installed on a PC with an existing XP partition creating a dual boot system,
what is the process when XP is selected. What happens to the XP boot sector. Is it backed up to a file
when 10 is installed or is it not needed anymore? ie. The Windows 10 boot loader calls NTLDR directly
when XP is selected bypassing the XP boot sector completely?
Thanks for any info.
This is really not a good plan due to xp security risk.. You should install windows 10 then install xp inside a virtual machine.
