Is Windows 10 OEM allowed for system builders?

Not according to Microsoft. Microsoft states in the link in post #2 that Windows 8.0 OEM and Windows 8.0 OEM only can legally be used on a computer that is meant to be kept for personal use.

I intend to sell all my computers - eventually.

Still not convinced Win 10 OEM is the right thing.

MS does say concerning, "Building a PC for personal use licensing" for Win 10, that "Full packaged retail product is needed."

But for Win 8, they say, "OEM System builder product may be purchased."

Find a store that has a Community bulletin board and post a add that you have a custom built computer for sale and ask for a ridicules high price. Not your fault nobody wants to buy it.

True, but does that then mean the system builder is allowed to use it for personal use? Here is where I'm not sure.

What I am sure however, is that doing this with Win 8 OEM is totally legit. I've made my decision, Win 8 OEM it is. Cheapest way to get Win 10.

Windows 8 was the only OEM that had the "Personal Use" clause. It was removed in Windows 8.1 .

How can I use the software? We do not sell our software or your copy of it – we only license it. Under our license, we grant you the right to install and run that one copy on one computer (the licensed computer) as the operating system on a computer that you build for your personal use, or as an additional operating system running on a local virtual machine or a separate partition, subject to the restrictions outlined under “Are there things I’m not allowed to do with the software?” The license is only for use by one person at a time, and only if you comply with all the terms of this agreement. The software is not licensed to be used as server software or for commercial hosting - so you may not make the software available for simultaneous use by multiple users over a network. For more information on multiple user scenarios and virtualization, see the Additional Terms. May I make a backup copy? Yes, you may make a single copy of the software for backup purposes, and use that backup copy as described below.
Can I transfer the software to another computer or user? You may transfer the software to another computer that belongs to you. You may also transfer the software (together with the license) to a computer owned by someone else if a) you are the first licensed user of the software and b) the new user agrees to the terms of this agreement. To make that transfer, you must transfer the original media, the certificate of authenticity, the product key and the proof of purchase directly to that other person, without retaining any copies of the software. You may use the backup copy we allow you to make or the media that the software came on to transfer the software. Anytime you transfer the software to a new computer, you must remove the software from the prior computer. You may not transfer the software to share licenses between computers. You may transfer Get Genuine Windows software, Pro Pack or Media Center Pack software only together with the licensed computer.
