    Windows 10 Retail USB Stick

Why does the retail boxed version of Windows 10 still have build 10240? After installing the retail version from the bundled USB drive I still have to download a 3.5 GB update to build 10586 every time I reinstall from this read-only USB drive.

    1. How is Microsoft supposed to update a read-only USB drive that is in your possession?

    2. Did you purchase the USB from Microsoft or a third party vendor after November 2015. Even is Microsoft produced retail USB drives that were updated to 10586.0 after the November release, there would still be a stock of the 10240 build flash drives at the vendors'/distributors' warehouses.

    3. Microsoft isn't going to spend the money to unpackage and update the 10240 flash drives they had left over. They will simply start shipping the new build when the stock of the old build is depleted.
