If I clone a disc does it just copy programmas and apps I have

If I clone a disc with Acronis true home image .Does it just copy programmas and apps I have installed? This would save me a lot of time if this is true. For example if I have Windows 10 Home installed when I backed it up and installed pro, would it keep my windows 10 professional licence and Office Etc. On to my new install. Thank you in advance.

Yes, Acronis can be used to clone the disk (make an exact copy on another disk). This is done for backup as well as upgrade to a larger disk or SSD. Because this is a change in hardware, you will have to activate Windows again, but after doing that you can use your installation as it was in the original disk. It's a good idea to clone the disk as backup before trying something new.

Do you mean clone the disc to external hard drive first before I try it?

Clone the disk to external (USB) or a second internal disk (SATA). Then keep that as backup and do your tests. If something goes wrong, you can clone the disk back to the original. If you want to change to a larger disk or SSD, clone to the new disk and then replace the original disk with the new. In that case you will need to activate Windows again.

OK going to try it now. Never done it before, but I have backups. Thanks

It's not responding and it's Acronis True Home Image 2016 full version.
