Windows 7 to Windows 10 But...

What happens if I get a lot of malware or addon ware that causes the system to become unstable and I can't clean it out plus it rewrites apps. What I have done in the past is to reinstall using my install disk to put a new fresh copy on the system creating a windows.old folder until I successfully reset everything up however with this windows 10 I can not do this unless there is a way to get a install disk or iso file to create a install disk. I am very anxious to know what I am suppose to do? I do however plan to create a partition on one of my external hard drives then put a restore on the partition like I did with windows 7 but would feel so much better if I had a bootable install disk.

    Thank you

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade - Windows 10 Forums

You will get tremendous help here by asking how you should set up your computer to be more protected from malware.

I myself would recommend installing and manually running this program weekly or monthly (free version available): Malwarebytes | Thank you for downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

After that program, you can go about removing unwanted programs in Programs and Features in Control Panel, such as toolbars, searches, Babylon, etc.

That's true, but it might be a good idea to have a clean start!

I used the link but it was in a foreign language. Could you send in English? P.S. I went ahead & downloaded the file. I just hope that it is in English.

Thank you I am going to bookmark this link however there sometimes just isn't time to track down all the troubles then download the files that might need to get replaced & I have spent days trying to get my system cleaned up so that it functions correctly & I get frustrated because I've got work to do & it is just easier to do a reinstall so that the windows.old folder is created. This has been working for me for quite some time. Plus I never can be for certain that I get all the bad malware removed or if it is just waiting in the background & comes back again. Still I like to have the physical disk so that I can use it to load into the repair area if I manage to lock myself out because I lose / forget the password but of course I have been making a password recover to avoid that situation. I need to find out what it takes to do that with windows 10 as well. It is just a good policy to have a physical disk in case I up grade my system to a new one so that I can install. As you can see just being able to clean the system isn't the only reason to have a physical disk. Hope this helps others who have not considered this and that they can then get their copy. The link provided in another post lead me to a site that is in a foreign language. Can someone provide an English version?

Are you aware that this link only explains how to reset IE but doesn't have any connection to fixing the entire system? Thank you anyway.

I don't know, if your download will be in English - the link I posted you is in German at least.

For the US you should pick this link: Windows 10

You can change the language by simply adjusting the URL, e.g. I replaced the "de-de" for German/Germany with "en-us" for English/United States now. The link for the download of the Media Creation Tool however stays exactly the same.
