Download an ISO that matches installed version of Windows 10?

I want to do a repair install from disc, but the DVD I made a couple weeks ago of 10 Pro x64 single language English version 1607 is rejecting the key that a Microsoft tech remotely added after a motherboard change made Windows decide to not be activated. A keyfinder program shows the same key.

    Winver says it's 1607 14393.576

Originally this was a free 10 upgrade from OEM Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - now with the key I *should* be able to do a clean or repair install off a DVD-R, if I can get an ISO that matches the key.

Technically a new motherboard means you have a new PC.

But apparently you can still use a W7 or 8, 8.1 key to activate 10.

Normally, If you wanted to clean install 10 you would just click skip when it asks for a key, because you would have a digital license.

    But you changed the motherboard.

But the member here was able to take a drive from an older board and install it on new equipment and get it to activate.

When you download a Windows 10 Iso file it does not give you a choice for Home or Pro, I think they are both on the disc.

This is the latest Iso file there is.

I just checked the ISO I downloaded. It's Home, not Pro. Seems that where I downloaded it got their links crossed up. :P Why not get it from MS? Because it's not been reliable getting them from MS on a 1.5meg DSL so I found a site that'd work with DownThemAll.

Now off to find a proper Pro ISO

Edit: It's *Microsoft* that has things screwed up! Just got done downloading from here Access Denied I made #$#%#%^ certain I selected PRO and I got HOME.

I'm downloading from softlay.net, maybe. Having to do it again because their server cut off the download a few kilobytes short of finishing and it wouldn't resume.

Just my luck. Back when I did my first 10 upgrade, right after the 1511 build was released, I downloaded the media creation tool and it downloaded the RTM version.

As far as I know ISO for Home or PRO are same, it only depends on license which way it will be installed.

Correct, the standard Windows 10 ISO file contains both Home and Pro. If Windows setup finds or is pprovided with a product key, it will install the matching version.

If no product key is found or entered, setup will ask which version to install.
