hello and thanks in advance for any and all help,
my situation is simple. i have to use hughes net where i live and the plan im contracted to has a data cap of 500mb per day. from what Ive read the new windows 10 file is over 3gb in size. is there another option im not seeing that will allow me to download the new OS?

thanks again for the help everyone

Hi .... I would say try going else where, a friend house or another family member , any where were you can download the upgrade .

Other than buying a DVD or downloading it using the MediaCreationTool, there are no other options at this moment
Please also be aware that Windows 10 shares a LOT of information by default over Internet.
your data volume can easily be consumed by all the data that (by default) is shared.
You'll need to make several changes to Windows 10 to limit the amount of data being used by the OS only.

    Good Luck....

You could have a friend or relative download the ISO and burn it to a DVD for you.
Harpert brings up a good point, though. Windows 10 will send and receive a great amount of data.

download the ISO after 2am EST as HughesNet allows unlimited download between 2am-7am EST

Another method, which I have used is to call MS and explain that your IP is limited and that you have several PC's you want to upgrade, but you can't because of your HughesNet 200MB per Day data cap and request a DVD.. After being a little forceful in my request, customer service sent me the windows 8.1 pro upgrade disks, no charge..
