No roll back option there either. Says my driver is from 2006.
What exactly is the name of the driver? It should say something like "AMD Radeon HD xxxx Series"

There is another option, you can find the driver and manually install it, it isn't usually great idea to download something from other sites than manufacturer sites. But if there is no other way, you can compare hashes (but I doubt AMD will have hash lists for their drivers somewhere).
Anyway, here are two possible links to drivers in amd community forum:
    Link 1
    Link 2

Driver only supports from HD 2000 up to HD 4000 desktop and mobility series

This just happened to me when Windows 10 updated yesterday - my display went all bonkers, super big, like opening an iPhone app on my iPad. There was no way to set it back either. My 17" monitor was the equivalent of a 13" with really bad resolution. But I rolled back the display driver and I'm back! Now, let's hope it stays that way because my Windows doesn't seem to have the options to turn off the driver updates. Thanks!
Mine just went back to normal!

And as I was writing that, it went back to 1024x768... however, I at least have the option to go up to 1856x1392.
When I select the higher resolutions, I get an "out of range" error from the monitor itself.

    What is going on here???

Looks like it updated, check the those drivers again, if there is that rollback option now (non-grayed). Otherwise proceed manually with links.

EDIT: Looks like you got it, I saw it in other discussion. GG WP

    Hi Joca,
My wife has just had the same problem on her LG 2240S Monitor.
Windows update today has loaded a new Display Adapter Driver.
    Login as an Administrator.
Go to Control Panel/ Device Manager/ Display Adapters.
Double click on the shown adapter - Select Driver Tab - this will show the driver date.
Click on Roll Back Driver - give reason - then select the previously dated driver and Apply
You may need to re-boot and re-selct correct resolution - but hers switched by itself.
This also happened on my system, but I have a slightly lower resolution monitor so correct setting was available,
via normal screen setting. So seems to be the 1080 height is the problem.

    Good Luck
I was starting to lose my mind and this worked, thank you! Since the troubled driver showed a date of July 2017 I figured it had been installed since that time, apparently not. Hopefully Microsoft will stop pushing this driver soon.

This happens to me again today, I was able to use the roll back option the last time but today it is grey out.

    What is going on?

Looks like an update has overwritten your working driver.

There are ways to switch off this function How to turn off driver updates in Windows Update in Windows 10 - Winaero or you can use the WinAero application (free). you would need to set this to off then visit your graphics or computer manufacturer's site to download and install the latest (or even one a few versions ago ) to restore your image quality.

If you do this you will of course stop ALL automatic driver installations from windows - so you may want to switch it back on after a month or so, to allow everything to catch up

My wife's computer just experienced the same problem two days ago as well !!

It had worked perfectly for ~ 4 yrs. Two days ago the screen flickered, and when it came back on it was resized to 1024 X 768.

We have tried everything that was suggested in the other thread about the same problem.
