I did learn recently that AMD are thinking about giving the miners their own GPUs. These cards won't have any kind of audio/visual OUT connections and will be cheaper than the Gamers cards.
Well if they're cheaper, the miners will probably just buy more of them so depleting stocks and then they turn to the next thing which is of course, the cards that gamers use.
Unfortunately These type of cards won't help unless they sell for significantly cheaper.
Miners like to sell off their ex-mining cards to gamers when they are done with them to help offset the cost.
And with the new mining cards having no AV outputs they will be unable to do that, making them less attractive due to a limited resell value on the used market.

It said how the gpu is faster than the cpu, but what is the gpu doing ?

A 1 sentence answer would be great, as I can always google the answer. just don`t wanna :)

GPU's have large numbers of ALU's, more so than CPU's. As a result, they can do large amounts of bulky mathematical labor in a greater quantity than CPU's.

    But how ?

    Short Answer

A CPU core can execute 4 32-bit instructions per clock (using a 128-bit SSE instruction) or 8 via AVX (256-Bit), whereas a GPU like the Radeon HD 5970 can execute 3200 32-bit instructions per clock (using its 3200 ALUs or shaders). This is a difference of 800 (or 400 in case of AVX) times more instructions per clock.
