Looking for Advice on a Good PC Monitor

What's wrong with AOC? Most people that I could find say it's a reliable brand when it comes to their home-office displays (I haven't tried their gaming monitors). Their monitors also have good ratings across the board on popular shops. This will be my first AOC though, but if there's something wrong I have 45 days to return it. And the rest is academic? I don't know. There's definitely a difference between 60 and 120Hz. It all depends on what games you play. I didn't play many e-sports titles which is why I'm ditching the idea of high refresh rate. But people doing professional e-sports will tell you that 120/144Hz and fast response time is mandatory. Once you get to bad response times you will see ghosting, which is terrible in fast moving games. My current BenQ doesn't have this issue because the response time is on 2ms I believe, so only time will tell if I can notice it on 4ms, my guess is no.

No doubt they make better monitors than my pair of 27" screens (AOC 2752H).
But I've not yet seen monitors with such a poor black level. Its black just isn't black. It's dark gray. Not good.

Anyway, cheap is cheap. That's why my next monitors will be a top brand.

You bought a TN panel and expected good black levels? Or do you mean in comparison to your top brands? Not even IPS panels are good at black levels if we compare it to VA/AMVA+ displays. And cheap is cheap? That may be half the story. It's actually your top brands that's likely to cut corners to avoid higher costs. It's not like I'm buying an off-brand monitor with AOC. You got a bad monitor for your standards with AOC so you will base them as a bad brand, and LG and Viewsonic as good brands. Someone else may the complete opposite perception because they bought (objectively) a bad monitor from either LG or Viewsonic and a good one from AOC, and that's fine. If I only got bad monitors from AOC then I would avoid them aswell. Which brings me to...

my monitor has arrived, and it's pretty great! What's crazy is that I can see the difference between 2ms and 4ms. It's barely visible, but I can see it. It doesn't ruin the experience or anything because I need to sit very close and be very perceptive to see it. The colors and blacks/whites are excellent versus my BenQ TN (understandably) and I'm very happy with it so far. It also came with a DP cable. Value for money. :)
