Now it's working after roll back, however to get the grayed "Roll back" option fixed I needed to use AMDCleanupUtility again. Then rebooted and I waited about 10 minutes, Widnows updated drivers by itself and "Roll back" option was available. Now 8.970.100.9001 driver version is installed. If there will be any problems I'll continue with the Algolei's follow-up solution, thanks.

    1920 x 1080 resolution

I also discovered my display had automatically moved to a different resolution. After hours of searching threads with NO help I had clearly learned that the Windows update that had just been applied changed everything in the driver. I went to right click start>device manager>display adapters>ATI Radeon 3000 and opened the application. I clicked the "driver" tab and "roll back the driver". Within 10 seconds the display was back to 1980 x 1080.
Hope that helps someone. All the Tech's that recommended re-downloading the drivers and jumping through hoops - what a waste. this was easy.

It was grayed out for me too joca, so I chose Update Driver and as suggested by Algolei, "Browse my computer for driver software", "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer".
I then chose the one from January 2013 and everything has been fine since.

It just went back to 1920x1080 all by itself!

But 10 seconds after I wrote that, it went back to 1024x768.
I now have resolution options up to 1856x1392, but if I select those, my monitor says "out of range."

    What is going on here???

Edit: I was finally able to roll back the graphics card driver and reset the resolution to 1920x1080.
    Hope it lasts this time...

This happened to my old PC like three weeks ago when MS pushed the AMD driver version 23.20.780.2. A really dumb move since this driver doesn't support legacy cards.
I fixed it by rolling back to the 8.970.100.9001 driver which is from 2015.

If the games don't work fine with the MS driver or you want the Catalyst Control Center then you might want to install a legacy driver: How to: Install Legacy Drivers on Windows 10 (W... | Community

Hey. I had the same problem. After doing online research, here's what worked for me.

[Step 1] Uninstall all display drivers using this utility provided by wagnardsoft.com "DDU (display driver uninstaller)"

[Step 2] Manually download (do not use auto detect) AMD/Nvidia display driver from thier website and install. Done!
    This worked for me!
