External Monitor - Preboot Blackscreen
Hi guys,
I`m not sure if this is the right place to ask this but i really need help. I have a laptop ... MSI GT73VR 6RF. After few months i`ve got this monitor as a gift from a friend: Acer Predator XB271HK. My problem is that i`m unable to see anything on the monitor until Windows 10 is loaded. Having a preboot password, this is a pain in the a## as it`s not an easy password and i don`t know if i write it correctly without opening the laptop lid.
I have 3 cables. HDMI to HDMI, MiniDP to DP and USB-C to DP. None of them are working. I would like to point our that my laptop does not have Nvidia Optimus. The laptop runs directly on the Nvidia GPU. Also there is no option in BIOS for the GPU and there is no key combination for the laptop to go on the external monitor during the preboot (ex FN+F4 or + F2 ... etc. I`ve seen people on Google with different laptops, that FN+F4 (or something) is working for them. )
I asked this question on MSI forums 4 months a go but i have no answer.
Could this be because laptops don`t have DP or HDMI going out directly from the GPU ? If yes then how come other people with different and older laptops don`t have this problem.
Really need help with this as my laptop is on a vertical stand with cables and sh#t, behind the monitor and it`s annoying to get the laptop out and open the lid to insert the password.
Cheers
