I guess that your laptop has dual graphics: onboard Intel and separate nVidia. (It would use the Intel graphics for low power/low performance purposes, and the nVidia graphics for things like games. The object is to save battery life.)

Because it's a laptop, you want drivers from the manufacturer. (Ones from nVidia may not recognize the device ID of the graphics adapter, if Lenovo gave it a custom one.)

Since you don't specify the exact model of your laptop, I can't help you locate the appropriate drivers.

its common error. if you want to access those, you should plug a monitor for your HDMI or DP output and get it working that way.

    Hi,
You get your drivers from Lenovo for the specific Laptop model, or Windows updates. These won't be the latest but they will work.
Laptops with Nvidia Optimus dual graphics are a different hardware arrangement to a Desktop with a separate Nvidia Graphics Card.

If you have been messing about with 3rd party uninstallers or trying to install "latest" drivers from Nvidia that will upset things. Then you are likely to need a re-install of Windows.

Take a look in Your Device Manager, expand the Display adapters section.
In there it should show two adaptors.
Click on each adapter for Properties and look at the Events Tab. You should see the Nvidia driver has installed after the Intel HD graphics, that is the correct way. Windows updates does that automatically.

A little surprising, but I'm glad that it works.
