Windows 10 Pro Does Not Give Option For 1920x1080 Display

hey, i there's no option for 1920x1080 resolution when i go to display settings. i have an acer monitor connected with a vga cable, when i run dxdiag it only displays my graphics card as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. i tried uninstalling the drivers from device manager and rebooting my computer but that didn't work. anyone know what i can do to fix this? if there's anything more you need to know or want me to do just tell me. thanks.

The Microsoft Basic Display means you do not have any graphics drivers installed. What graphics card do you have?

You will need specific drivers for your graphics card, the Microsoft Basic Display is a set of drivers used when no other drivers are installed.

Check your system documentation for the make and model installed or otherwise use something like Speccy to find this out for you. Then go to the site of the manufacturer and find and download the required drivers, Install the drivers re-boot and the system should do the rest

This is a very old chipset graphics set - but luckily it's a nVidia set so should work with these drivers Drivers | GeForce If you wish you could download the small app available on the page that will check the chip you have to make sure it's fully compatible. download and install the driver and reboot and you should be good to go with all resolutions possible for your Monitor
