Windows 10: Windows 10 CU GTX1070 black screen

Windows 10 CU GTX1070 black screen

I updated to Win10 CU and then did a complete system reset. Now I no longer get any picture signal.

When Win10 boots to the login prompt, there's no picture. I know the computer is running, but the screen is black.

If I run DDU from safe mode, I get image, but as soon as I try to install NVIDIA drivers, or if Windows installs their default drivers, I get black screen.

Any suggestions? I spent several hours on this today, with no progress. :-(

Clutching at straws a bit here but if you goto safemode , hit the win key + P then select one of the options (most likely "pc screen only") then reboot?

some have fixed it by shuting down (not a restart a full shut down)

does anything show up if you use keyboard shortcuts? such as ctrl alt del for task manager for example?

looks like a common issue after the update but theres no solid fixes

I have spent the better part of the day with this. It seems to be a combination of a Win10 CU bug and a bad MSI driver.

I reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch and installed a graphics driver, then updated to CU. Works now it seems.

    Glad it's sorted :)
