I found this fix somewhere online, and it worked for me. It's a simple fix, but if you don't know how to use the registry(regedit), ask someone or backup before you try.

Go here in regedit,*Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000 then look for*KMD_EnableBrightnessInterface2 in the right pane, double click it and change the 1 to a 0 and you must reboot after for it to work.* That's all, enjoy.
(If for some strange chance it didn't work after restart, then go back and change the 0, back to a 1)
That's for AMD cards. Won't work for Nvidia as the value does not even exist, or is recognized.

Okay BKnight, I do have an AMD card in my laptop so I guess that's why it worked for me. Sorry to those with Nvidia cards, I was only trying to help. Maybe there is a similar data/value, for Nvidia cards, but don't go messin' with the registry if it seems like a foreign language to ya, lol or without backing up.

elpusher, did the reg change fix it for you?
Haven't tried it. I have both nVidia and AMD cards so this is just a partial workaround.

I hope MS will be releasing a cumulative update with this "fix" for Creators Update.
