Not exactly sure what is going on, but did find this thread on Guru3D about it:
Win10 WU driver release 07/10/2015 15.201.1151 WHQL (not Station drivers release)... - Guru3D.com Forums

Perhaps MS WHQL'd those drivers and released them through Windows Update? That's what those guys over at Guru seem to be saying. If that is true, we'll know soon enough as AMD will be releasing them soon.

Anyway I just know MS doesn't release beta drivers through Widows Updates (at least they never did in the past). At any rate I still didn't get them so...

At first I thought it might have been a hotfix to 15.7.1, but in closer look the driver packaging version matches that of 15.9.1 beta:

AMD Catalyst 15.9.1 Beta Driver for Windows

AMD Catalyst™ Display Driver version 15.201.1151

You said you got this one...

Just got an update this morning that changed the driver packaging version on 15.7.1 drivers to 15.201.1151-150821a-188665E. Anyone else get this?
which is a different version from the beta release you linked to above.

And, as we both agreed... MS does not put beta drivers in their windows update packages...

That's because, as I said in my previous post to you, this was a driver packaging version change for the STABLE drivers. Windows Update does NOT push beta drivers.

The driver packaging version in the beta remains the same.
Therefore it wouldn't (shouldn't) be those beta drivers you linked to. Anyway the version WU gave you vs. the beta drivers have two different version numbers. 15.201.1151 is the same, but after that, they are different.

    Beta... 15.201.1151.1004-150929a-294965E-ATI

You seem to have gotten a newer driver. Perhaps you could clarify by posting your Device Manager info as I did here.

BTW what video card do you have???

some drivers are optimised for the laptop manufacturer, hence the differences in sub-references..

Yeah I didn't realize LovingWindows had a laptop, where I have a desktop featuring a Sapphire R9 Fury. Hench the difference in drivers.
