After win10's installation my external monitor has black borders.

This was happening also with win7 after installation. with catalyst control center [which I cannot open anymore in win 10 :-(...as I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD4670 which is not supported] I could easily fix the issue:

    - open Catalyst Control Center
    - go to My Digital Flat-Panels
    - choose Scaling Options
    - slide the slider all the way to the right (so that it is a 0%)

So, this is a monitor scaling options (or border padding I think in windows) issue that I need to fix. I searched everywhere but I cannot find any fix in win10.

Monitor: Dell S2440L 24" full HD 1080p. Resolution is set to 1920x1080 which is the native resolution of my monitor. It's set as Generic pnp monitor. The ATI Catalyst Pro Control Center does not open. and the new driver does not work with my ATI mobility radeon HD 4670.

I think the monitor used to have a scaling option (if auto adjust in the OSD menu was such an option, which I actually never used as I used to scale with CCC) but now when I click on menu the auto adjust function is greyed and cannot be used. I cannot say for sure if it was always greyed as in fact I never used it before.

Thanks in advance for any help. This is getting really annoying. I just don't see how there cannot be a fix for something so trivial as scaling / adjusting monitor's borders.

I have the same issue with the ati radeon hd 4600. I think the only solution may be to go back to 7 or upgrade the video card. don't know if AMD can or will create a windows 10 driver for 4xxx series drivers.

Well driver works fine but there is still no DX 12 support listed on dxdiag, still 11.1 and below only.

it will run DX12 - the GUI hasn't been updated by AMD to show DX12 yet..
try the DX12 Unigine4 engine trailer, available over at Guru3d - it runs really well..

I had Windows 10 Bootloop issue with HD 5000 switchable card. But after couple of tries it allows me to login.

Currently I don't see any error after logged in to the system. But HDMI connection is not working. I have tried Win+P and all other options mentioned and still no luck

It's an issue with the AMD drivers. A lot of people have reported the same problem, including myself.

I'm having problems with the new AMD 15.7.1 catalyst driver. As soon as it's installed my monitor goes black and says no signal.

You can also go through the Update Catalog (needs IE), sort by date, and try anything but the latest one.

You can also Roll Back Driver in:
    • devmgmt.msc > Display adapters > ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series > Right-click > Properties > Driver

or possibly pick one locally in:
    • Update Driver.. > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
