If nothing looks wrong with the connectors I'd try a different cable.
Will check out the volts and most likely will get a new cable.

Sounds a bit bizarre to me surely these things are supposed to work properly out of the box?
Don't think I'll be getting one of those monitors anytime soon!
Nothing wrong with the monitor. It works fine. Its something to do with the graphics card as it doesn't output display and doesn't start the PC up as my keyboards lights don't turn on. Most likely either the DP cable or the DP input for the graphics card.

Have been reading about the pin 20 DP cables giving out power and which apparently is bad for graphics cards as it does give out power to them. Which sums up my conclusion. My options are either stick to the DVI or buy a 19pin DP. Thanks for your help guys.
