6GB Geforce GTX 1060 and OC

Wow, what have I been missing, this new card is excellent!!!

Q: With the card, which has been installed 2 days now, came some software one of which is:

    EVGA Precision XOC

Just how 'clever' or dangerous is overclocking? I messed about with it a little and its setting are as shown. Am I ok, as its supplied by EVGA I presume its alright.

PrecisionX shows the GPU in light load state so the clocks aren't high. But if you were to OC that thing make sure it's still stable for 30mins to an hour. If not, go back to the last clock where the GPU was stable for the longest time. Artifacts and crashes will be the symptoms of "Too much OC".

Cheers Roaster, what are the advantages of OC'ing? I'll boost it a bit and keep an eye on it.

on the left of the 'dial' is a lightining icon. I clicked on the slider and it was in the red, at the screen settings - then the screen went off, so after reboot, I switched to default, same settings as on screen and then lowered slider into green. I think I'll leave it be - as I have zero ideas on its technicalities. Thanks guys.
