Input signal out of range after Windows 10 Update
Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded my Windows 7 operating system to Windows 10. Everything seemed to be working pretty well, except that the resolution didn't seem to fit very well (the screen was somewhat stretched and distorted, and any alternate settings that I chose caused black edges to appear on one or both sides of the screen). It was still workable, though.
Then, after a few days, I noticed that the monitor was starting to becoming even more grainy and distorted than before. Finally, I restarted the computer, only to receive the following error message:
"Input signal out of range. Changes settings to 1600x900, 60Hz."
The screen continues to display this message and does not move on to any other screens.
Being unable to make any changes, I started the computer in safe mode. I clicked on Display Settings --> Advanced Display settings and tried to change the resolution to 1600x900, but there is no option for that - it is currently set on 1280x1024.
Furthermore, when I click on "Display Adapter Properties," in order to try to change the screen refresh rate, the only option available is 64 Hz (not 60).
Can anyone recommend a solution for this? I never had any sort of problems with the monitor when I had my previous operating system.
In case it helps, I have an HP2011xi monitor. It is connected to the CPU via a VGA cord.
