GeForce 210 doesn't need any 6-pin power connector to power it up, it only consumes at about 5-15W.
One less thing to worry about then , I was actually wondering if the PS is dodgy since he said it won't power up , which made me wonder if the GFX Card needed power from the 6 pin too.

Well i'm on a set of long shifts for the next 3 days so time is limited but the aim at the moment is to get it back up and running. It does initialise but I just get a blank screen but the mouse pointer is visible and can be moved around but nothing else happens. Very strange so i'm going to leave it overnight to see if there are things sorting themselves out in the background and will see what tomorrow brings.
As always many thanks for the helpful suggestions.
    Thanks

Right i'm back but its not good news.... Can't get the pc to startup beyong the first logo screen. Tried everything I can. The other day I found that F9, when you power up puts it into diagnostic mode which said the main board and processor are ok but the hard drive hase faults. So I stuck another hard drive in and using my sons laptop downloaded the Windows 10 ISO image that someone on here posted the link for.... and it won't install. I used the format utility first to ensure it was in the correct format. It gets to the point where there is a screen with about 5 or 6 lines indicating progress and when it got to 95% on the second line (Getting files ready to install) it stopped. I left the machine on overnight and it didn't get any further. So I started the install again. and it won't start to install at all. Tried swapping back to the original harddrive and doing a fresh install and that won't go either.... I'm now assuming the main board or processor is nackered despite what the diagnostics say but has anyone any other option I could try before I give up with this pc completely.
And many thanks for all the help so far. I wouldn't have got this far without it.... but i'm begining to thing using a large hammer on it would at least give me a moment of satisfaction....
    Thanks

Maybe it's time for a new set of computer parts. As a GeForce 210 user, I will recommend you to buy a new Intel Skylake processor and just use Intel HD. It's integrated graphics is far better than the GeForce 210.

Not convinced yet that the mainboard is the issue, I have a feeling ur RAM is maybe the root cause.
Can you take out the Nanya and the Hyundai and try again, then the other way around, take the Samsungs out.

    Cheers

I've tried the other suggestions without success. So when I get back this afternoon I will have a play with the ram. Thanks Tom

Yes ,couldn't hurt to remove the extra sticks you added to make 5GB and see if the "original config" works , then the Samsungs alone so you have dual channel still, then the 2gb chip alone etc.

Well well am I pleased to have you guys onside... So after messing around with different combinations of ram sticks I find only the 2g stick works. The pc fired up with a brand new windows 10 install, without prompting, and i'm now up and running. The freezing I suffered from, which was exactly like that reported by many Nvidia users, has now stopped and the 210 graphics card is in there and working with no probs. I can only say thank you for sticking with this and helping me through all the frustration. I'm one happy bunny.

The wirdest thing is that the pc worked fine for quite a while with all these sticks in before the freezing started and when it did I kept getting the window that said the graphics driver had failed. So i'm assuming something that was done like the graphics driver upgrade or reinstall cured the graphics card issue but the memory stick problem came to light and confused things.

But i'm not sure I care after weeks of trying to get to the bottom of this. Again, i'm very grateful to you guys for all your help and support.
    Many thanks !
