Reading the Guru3D forums it seems that a lot of hardcore gamers aren't happy with this driver. ManuelG of NVIDIA has posted on the thread so we'll probably see a hotfix in a couple of weeks.
What's wrong with it? Apart of the 'open issues' that one should always check out before updating.

I am not even going to bother into installing this one. All in all, I am not a gamer and only play Bejeweled Deluxe & Solitaire at night before going to sleep. And also, I find it amazing and kind of odd about the many drivers updates from Nvidia we've gotten in the last 2-3 months. Why is that?
Exactly. Don't update just to update. Nvidia release drivers based on game titles. So more popular games = more drivers. Studio drivers are released less frequent, so maybe choose those instead.

Thanks for the advice. That is probably what I am going to do from here on out, i.e., use only those studio drivers.

Sorry to hear that Was it a repairman from a shop or a person you know? Why on earth would he install a 32bit OS for you if you have 64 bit compliant hardware. You're going to be severely gimped, even your 16GB of RAM won't be used. If I were you I would tell him to change it back to 64 bit.
From a shop. Rather not giving the name of that shop in case of bad publicity and stuff... But how can I update all this stuff and put it back on a 64-bit system as easy as possible? (without all of the tedious reinstalling of EVERYTHING??)

There really is no easy way. You have to do a clean install to change to 64bit. Planning is the key. You need to collect all your installers and any keys before you start. Programs like PatchMyPC Home Updater Overview | Patch My PC or Ninite Ninite - Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once can help by batch installing the latest versions of common programs.

Thanks, but on the other paw... I HARDLY use this PC for gaming, for that I have my trusty PS4 and some 32 bit compatible games. (Sorry, GTA V!) And if I must, I can always switch over to my 'normal' videocard on my MB.

Your choice of course but 32bit is being deprecated more and more. I've just been through a clean install on an old W7 machine so I feel your pain.

Yep even Ubuntu is killing off the 32bit distro

Sheeesh, take it easy you guys... I'm only using this PC for internet stuff and some LIGHT games now. Again, for mainly GAMING I'm using my Playstation 4! :)

    It's my choice :)

I'm already glad that my PC is actually WORKING again after just seeing the desktop without even a mousepointer... It's running and that's that!
