Even though I agreed only to the driver, GeForce Experience couldn't be unchecked and installed anyway. Must be a bug. It was easy enough to uninstall.
    Same problem/bug...

    Official statement on this.

NVIDIA found a bug in our recent 435.02 driver posting where it installs GeForce Experience even if the user selects not to install it.

We have paused the driver download from the Nvidia website while we fix the issue. Users attempting to download the driver from the NVIDIA website will receive an "error" message when attempting to download.

If you have installed the driver and wish to uninstall GeForce Experience, you can do so from the ‘Window System Settings’ à ‘Add or Remove programs’. We apologize for the error and hope to have the fixed driver re-posted soon.

That is exactly the case for me. I have been trying to download it for the past 15 minutes and each time I came across the error: "404-Not found". Same thing on different browsers.

Think I will have to wait until the fix is issued.

    Probably for the best.

However, you could separately install the Geforce Experience app and download the update through that. (It works.)

I never use the GeForce Experience, that is why I use DDU to just install the Display Adapters and do away with all the unneeded stuff that usually comes along. BTW, there is a new version of DDU (v18.0.1.7)

A manual minimum install worked fine here

As Faith quoted above, the driver has been pulled because of the GFE issue. 404s with both the direct link and the advanced search link.
