Latest NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers for Windows 10

I installed 430.39 on the Z170 just today, and I don`t have the 2nd file you say to remove, it`s just not there. I`m not having any issues yet with 430.39

One thing that does piss me off, is that GeForce Experience does not optimize some games, like FT13, even if I go in and set everything to Epic. The Optimize button just isn`t there.

This doesn`t happen on the X299, so it could be just the Z170/980Ti combo IDK

I also notice that the files in both of the nvidia Corporation folders just pile up and pile up, even if you do a clean install.

So after downloading the drivers, not letting GE do it. I delete everything I possibly can in those folders. Then I install the drivers.

I also read a while ago that you can delete everything in the Installer2 folder, but I`m not sure about that anymore.

    Thoughts on that ?

I`ve just read to leave it be.

But from the articles I`ve just read, if you do delete everything in the Installer 2 folders, you won`t be able to uninstall the nvidia software from Programs and Features, If you should ever need to.

I suppose it doesn`t matter too much since apparently the next new driver install will rebuild the folder anyway.

I've never tried uninstalling so I can't say. I guess if that is an issue you could always download and reinstall before uninstalling.

That folder is only 700 MB so I`ll leave it be for now

And every folder is dated for today the 29th, and there are no duplicate folders.

Because I wiped everything out and went back to 425.31

This is one of the best articles and explanations and procedures for the NVidia trash I have seen.

The Nvidia uninstall process for me is:

    1. Uninstall with Revo Uninstaller (it will uninstall all Nvidia drivers instead of uninstalling them one by one from programs and features that requires restarts between each one .)
    2. Clean leftover registry/folders with Revo.
    3. Then reboot into safe mode and run Display Driver Uninstaller (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details...-download.html). When DDU is finished it will auto boot you back to normal mode where you can install the new Nvidia driver.

Doesn't DDU do everything neat, clean, and completely? Don't understand the need to Revo it all first. Maybe I'm missing something.

Nope, your not missing a thing, Best Way to remove Nvidia is using DDU from safe mode....always has been. But like they say ..."different strokes for different folks"....LoL
