many thanks. I would have expected a pop up from Nvidia to tell me its here but nothing, so went to your download, I decided to do new install as its 'due' after so many upgrades.

edit: for some reason I was still on 385, no wonder I have not been seeing notifications recently.

Do you have GeForce Experience installed? It popped up with a notice for the 388.00 driver.

Ditto. GeForce doesn't see it, only available via link, so I'll pass, too. Enough tricky issues with drivers already. But thanks for the alert. Sometimes (rare) there is a Hot-fix that's not game specific related.

FYI: There will be a WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) certified driver early next week for Wolfenstein II, aswell as a few bug fixes specific for the Fall Update, for anyone who won't - or can't - install a hotfix driver on their machines.

I certainly hope either Microsoft and or Nvidia figure this crap out.

I'll start out by saying normally my system runs great and in the past I have rarely, if ever had problems
with Nvidia drivers. And I try almost all of them, hotfix, beta, and the whql Game Ready Release versions.

Gaming performance in World of Warcraft (yea I know its old and whatnot, but its what I enjoy playing)
has been tanked ever since I installed the FCU update. With V-sync enabled the game is a stuttering mess
on any of the recent driver releases. Constantly bouncing back and forth between 30fps and 60fps.
Disable V-sync and it will run at well over 150fps, dropping down into the low 100's in more intense areas.
But I cant stand the screen tearing or listening to my video card fan run wide open for no good reason.
In desperation (and an afternoon of boredom) I started going back in driver revisions until I found a set
that would actually run the game like it used to, maintaining a solid 60fps with no stuttering mess..

Made it all the way back to version 382.53 and then blocked WU from doing driver updates with wushowhide.

Anyway that's the end of my little rant. Figured I would post up my findings in case it may help someone else.

    peace
    wanna
