Yeah, it's actually included in the known issues in the driver announcement thread.

I'm not all that worried about it at the moment, as I haven't played it in a while and I'm sure they'll either issue a hotfix or have it fixed by the next driver. Still, though, that's a pretty big bug to be in a WHQL certified driver release, in my opinion.
Yep, WD2 crashes as soon as launched. Manual G doesn't seem to have an idea when it will be fixed:

    Thankfully, it's not affecting GRW.

They get more like Microsoft by the day

As you say likely as not there'll be a hotfix in about a week.

I'll give them a go on Infinite Warfare later.

Well at least Ubisoft is aware of the issue of Nvidia 384.76 where Watch Dogs 2 won't even launch with this driver.

There must be some pretty smart software engineers on this forum. Ubisoft constantly works closely with Nvidia on every game. Plus the issue is only WD2. GRW, etc run fine. What is it that is so serious and a specific issue that WD2 won't even launch with this driver?

Anyone want to explain that to me?

Well, I was just coming here to post a workaround for the WD2 crash, but I guess Nvidia beat me to it.

Looks like the issue was with Ansel, because turning it off allowed WD2 to run.

Yes, I can confirm WD2 launches just fine with this hotfix driver. So the issue was Ansel? Ansel was recently implemented with GRW, and it worked with 384.76. So that same driver , because of Ansel, was causing WD2 to not even launch, and it's the same game dev, Ubisoft.

In my retirement, perhaps I could go for a computer software degree. But I have my doubts if even that would explain to me how game coding works. Where's the uniformity, the rules?
