    Done!

So let's see if in the next couple of day's, it was worth it

Just remember to set the color range to Full
I would like to ask you two questions, and pardon me for the off topic:

    1) Why are you using the full color range? Do you get better image quality in your monitor with this, than with the Default : "With the video player settings"?

    2) How do you set the Scaling Mode (in Display / Adjust desktop size and position)? Do you leave it at the Default : Aspect ratio or you set it to "No scaling"? I've heard that setting it to "No scaling" reduces the monitor's lag.

Personally, I leave both at their defaults.

After reading your post, a few minutes ago, I've set both my monitors (see System Specs) on Dynamic range: Full (0-255). Then I rebooted and I've rotated my desktop backgrounds. I have not noticed any improvement on my displays but I admit I have observed them for way too short time. Similarly, in the past, I've set my Scaling mode to No scaling. I think I've noticed my desktop becoming a bit snappier but perhaps it was placebo.

Thanks for your eventual input on this.

I use Full color range, because I do graphics stuff in GIMP and I want/need to see the full color pallet/color spectrum, plus it stops black and white(in the gray scale) clipping:

And the blacks won't look so washed out when viewing night time/dark video or image material, and the whites also will not be clipped, so if, for example looking at a winter landscape or clouds, you see all shades of white, and not just a cotton ball clump.

Scaling is just my monitors default

All right, thanks for your reply! :)

I am using "Full [Dynamic] range" from now on, as well, but... do you happen to know why am I not seeing ANY kind of difference in the quality of the images I am using as desktop backgrounds, in any of my monitors? All my desktop background images are downloaded from Microsoft. I am using around 300 images from various MS Themes. Today I have downloaded some really dark images (a Theme), and I switched between these options numerous times... Honestly-honestly, it felt like nothing is being applied! Nothing was changing in any of my two monitors...

These are the options I have applied, in turn. Nothing changes, nothing at all. (of course, I hit the "Apply" button and wait a bit)

Finally, from where do you set that Overscan setting? Is this somewhere in the NVIDIA control panel?

    Thank you.

On the display tab click change resolution, scroll down to the bottom and you'll see options to adjust the dynamic range. I don't think changing it in the video tab affects normal display.

I have experienced the same Gramps. An instant jump in 2D and 3D quality in my monitor setting that to full.(an old ASUS MT276 1080I)
Just another chore among many to be done after install. I also am a member of the tinfoil hat crowd and don't like all the "Telemetry" items for Nvidia in task scheduler and I disable those.

Thanks! You are spot on, in the sense that now something has changed: both of my monitors went blank for a second and the setting has been applied. I did not see any change in the quality of my desktop backgrounds, though. I have tried it numerous times again. Sorry, I do not see any change in quality, or perhaps a very subtle one? Really, not sure...

    - What is your opinion, should I leave it like this, is it better to leave it like this, or should I restore the defaults?
    - My main (HP) screen is connected with DisplayPort, the secondary with DVI. Why am I not having the same option for my secondary (Dell) screen?
    - The video color settings I've already adjusted, as shown in my previous post, do they have any meaning in these screens? Are they for watching movies or something? Because I'm using my TV (connected to my PC) for that.

    Are all these changes meaningful?

    Thanks a lot!

PS: I always clean-install just the driver + PhysX and I disable the Telemetry, Raid, etc with Autoruns, right afterwards.

Just curious, I've not been delivered creators update , still waiting my turn on windows update. Those of you who have installed it and were on slightly older nvidia drivers than the current. Did the update process auto download new drivers as part of the install? Last time around with anniversary update it updated my drivers which irritated me as I stick with a driver until there is a compelling need for a newer one and follow the 'if it ain't broke then don't fix it' mantra.

I think I manually downloaded the driver from Nvidia (like always) because it was for the windows creator update.

I've had the GeForce program installed for over a year. Creators Update was installed last week using MS ISO. Ever since that I noticed an occasional black window in my browsers for a fraction of a second (almost unnoticeable). Opened Device Manager and checked for update in Windows Updates and it gave me a new driver. The black windows seemed to stop. Then, I noticed the GeForce program was missing from my system. Reinstalled it today, and it gave me an even newer update.

Joanne, it doesn't work that way, it just gives you the ability to see near black(1-17) and near white(235-254) on the 0-255 gray scale without APL clipping. This adds more shades of color.
An Explanation: Take a white sheet of paper, and look at it outside on a sunny day, then in the shade, and lastly in the house. The color (white) is still the same, but the shade changes do to the amount and type of lighting, This is what calibrating Contrast and Brightness, and Gamma does.

Another helpful tool not posted there is Lagom: LCD monitor test images

Do not use these as they are just screenshots as an example, they are not sending the signal to your graphics card like the actual tools will do!
