I am returning the new GeForce GT 710 for credit and will regroup. I have no graphics card installed at the present but I am using the integrated adapter for now until I can determine what Windows 10 compatible graphics card can be installed on my old PC and go on from there. Thanks to all of you for your help.

You have integrated Graphics on the MB ? don't remember you mentioning that before...... if so disable it in the Bios and try the 710 again if you didnt already disable it previously....

I wasn't sure that I had the integrated adapter on this PC because when I ordered it I got the Radeon graphics card already installed so I never did use the integrated Graphics adapter. I would have assumed that the BIOS would have been set to disable when it came from the factory as the Radeon x600 card worked fine from Windows XP over to Windows 7 and then stopped working when I went to Windows 10 as that card no longer has drivers to support Windows 10. Then I ordered the GT 710 card so I could get drivers for Windows 10.
When I plugged the VGA cable into the integrated adapter connection I was very surprised when my screen came to life in a usable format. I can check the BIOS and see what it is set up for.

It should be disabled if you are using a dedicated GFX card and if there is an option set the 1st Display device to PCIe (not PCI) if it's not already. the 710 may just need more resources than the older card and is now fighting with the integrated GFX.

Nvidia have released a new driver today, version 372.70 WHQL. Note however there is a version for Windows 10 and a version for Windows 10 Anniversary Edition. Use the Operating System dropdown box box to make your choice.

Bought a Nvidia gtx 1060 yesterday and it doesnt work I downloaded the latest drivers for my version of windows and it crashes at the compatibility stage saying the drivers are not compatible with my version of windows. I spent £250 on this card and it was a waste of money I am completely disgusted with windows 10

Are you sure you downloaded the correct drivers for your version off Windows 10? There are four different choices 32-bit or 64-bit and then Windows 10 or the Windows 10 anniversary update.
