No problem with NVIDIA Drivers, since I always use DDU with Inernet disconneted to prevent MS from messing aroung with generic Drivers while updating. My main problem with MS is when, after a FU or CU, one finds out that the Audio system is not working anymore or worst the pairing of one's headphones had gone Kablooey.
I do as well, but when I hook up my router WU starts auto downloading it.

I have reported this and many other things To The Hub. I get better help here and tweeting Windows insiders Directly.

Pretty sure MS knows about those issues. How many times Insiders and non-Insiders have reported them in the feedback hub.

That is weird and irresponsible from MS to replace the lastest Updated driver from the Manufacturer with its own (generic). I really find this to be unacceptable if that were to be the case. BTW, I've just checked my confguration In GP Editor and figured out that in the past I had already set my production machine still on 1809 not to let MS download Devices drivers. Waiting for 19H2 to see how everything will play out.

Just an FYI on that hotfix driver...once I installed it after DDUing, it won't let me set RGB Full in NVCP. When I try to do so, it drops me back to YCbCr422 Limited. I've done multiple reboots to see if it would fix it, but it hasn't. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks For The info but I never use Hotfix Drivers unless they affect a game I am playing.

I didn't have that problem but I used NVSlimmer to install and the driver kept all of it's previous settings despite me selecting clean install in the NVIDIA installer. I used the DCH version.

TBH I've not found any difference between the Standard and DCH drivers in performance so I don't mind which I use. I can see the time coming shortly where Standard drivers phased out and DCH will become the most used. A bit like Realtek HDA and UAD drivers.
